Occupational Therapist


Work-Able Solutions provides private occupational therapy and ergonomic consulting services throughout Manitoba. Established in 1998, we are a well-respected firm, with a team of experienced therapists dedicated to integrity. We strive to provide innovative and practical workplace services and quality care for our clients.

We have an immediate opening for an occupational therapist in our ERA Mental Health Services program.
This position is part time (minimum 15 hours per week) with flexibility up to full time.

Our ERA Mental Health Services program provides occupational therapy aimed at enhancing function in the home, community and workplace for individuals experiencing a variety of mental health conditions. You will have the opportunity to be creative and use a variety of interventions with a focus on supporting personal recovery and return to work. You will be providing services to insurance companies and employers, conduct functional abilities assessments and job demands analysis, implement activation, stay at work/return to work programs, and act as a consultant/resource regarding issues pertaining to mental health recovery, disability management, and workplace accommodation. There is opportunity to be involved in program development and expansion of our mental health services.

Additional opportunities for work are available in our other service areas including: home/ADL assessment; office and industrial ergonomics, injury prevention and return to work services, and functional capacity evaluation.

 
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation or Masters in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university
Registered and in good standing with COTM; membership with MSOT and CAOT is preferred
A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in occupational therapy practice in mental health
Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle - travel regularly throughout Winnipeg and occasionally into rural areas of Manitoba is required
Strong communication skills and the ability to write clear well-structured reports
Must be self-directed and be able to apply a customer service approach
Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
A home office with computer, fax capabilities, and cell phone
